"Hello, I'm Adam. Father of twins, Director of Souter Built, and trying to implement sustainable change to the way we build, one house at a time. 

 

I started my journey as an apprentice carpenter 19 years ago, in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney.  Since then, I have worked for some of the best carpenters and builders in the industry not just in Australia, but Canada and the USA also. 

 

At the beginning of 2017 I made the choice from working as a carpenter/subcontractor to starting my own company to train like minded people that nothing is impossible, you just have to find the solution. 

 

Since then we have won 8 industry awards in recognition of the companys' ethos and a reflection of our employees dedication to their craftsmanship, multiple prints in feature magazines, and local newspaper articles of our achievements.

 

Now calling Wollongong home, we are currently building the first certified Passive House in the Illawarra #PepperTreePassiveHouse to prove to the industry that houses can be built better for the environment, healthier for the occupants, superior in energy efficiency and doesn't cost the earth.

 

Even in these uncertain times we are still very optimistic of the future."
